چکیده

In this paper, we present a novel near field transducer (NFT) design concept for heat assisted recording. design, metal bars separated by thin dielectric are used to form resonance plasmonic grating with distributed feedback (DFB). The motivation such structure is the use of separation enhancing material stability at elevated temperature so that best materials can be without compromising much needed properties. COMSOL Multiphysics software simulate excitation and propagate provide detailed performance analysis on NFT nanocomposite create optical (DFB) maintaining resonance. composed an array Au rectangular gratings constant gap, each component embedded in medium. It shown based could have same efficiency compared solid piece geometric dimensions.

Plasmonic near-field transducer for heat-assisted magnetic recording

Plasmonic devices, made of apertures or antennas, have played significant roles in advancing the fields of optics and opto-electronics by offering subwavelength manipulation of light in the visible and near infrared frequencies. The development of heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) opens up a new application of plasmonic nanostructures, where they act as near field transducers (NFTs) to lo...

Near-Field Optical Characterization of Nanocomposite Materials

*We present a near-field optical technique *-hich makes use of the strongly enhanced optical field at a laser-illuminated metal tip. The enhanced field is used to locally excite the sample under investigation by multiphoton absorption. An optical scan image w-ith spatial resolutions dow-n to 20 nm is established by detecting the emitted fluorescence. The principle of the method is described and...

Mapping near-field plasmonic interactions of silver particles with scanning near-field optical microscopy measurements

A scanning near-field optical microscope (SNOM) is a powerful tool to investigate optical effects that are smaller than Abbe’s limit. Its greatest strength is the simultaneous measurement of high-resolution topography and optical near-field data that can be correlated to each other. However, the resolution of an aperture SNOM is always limited by the probe. It is a technical challenge to fabric...

Near-field asymmetries in plasmonic resonators.

Surface-enhanced infrared absorption (SEIRA) spectroscopy exploits the locally enhanced field surrounding plasmonic metamaterials to increase the sensitivity of infrared spectroscopy. The light polarization and incidence angle are important factors for exciting plasmonic nanostructures; however, such angle dependence is often ignored in SEIRA experiments, typically carried out with Cassegrain o...

Optimal open-loop near-field control of plasmonic nanostructures

Optimal open-loop control, i.e. the application of an analytically derived control rule, is demonstrated for nanooptical excitations using polarization-shaped laser pulses. Optimal spatial near-field localization in gold nanoprisms and excitation switching is realized by applying a π shift to the relative phase of the two polarization components. The achieved near-field switching confirms theor...
